It’s a sad fact that the United States has one of the lowest rates of voting among the world’s democracies. Although some countries require their citizens to vote, that’s just not us: we’re not a country where such laws would be supported by the majority.
But there are other ways to get people out there. I’ve been thinking about the fact that our country has an affinity for fun – and a voteword attached to a person’s ballot would bring a novel change to what many Americans currently see as a chore. Picture the texts, tweets and emails on election night: “Did you look up your vote yet? Was your vote recorded okay?”
Wouldn’t this get more people to show up at the polls?
